Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 October 2026
This policy explains what data Hyndr handles when you use this website and the Health Check, why it is handled, how long it is kept, and the choices available to you.
1. What the Health Check does
When you start a Health Check, your browser exchanges temporary, Hyndr-generated test data with measurement servers. This measures speed, latency, jitter and connection stability. We do not read, scan or upload your personal files, and we do not track your browsing history.
2. Data we handle
Data processed to run the Health Check
To connect to the service, perform the measurements and show your result, Hyndr processes:
- Your IP address while your device communicates with the service. It is used to route the connection and determine the approximate ISP and region. It is not written to the optional Health Check summary.
- Technical request information, including browser type and device category.
- The selected measurement server.
- The measurements needed to calculate and display your result.
IP addresses and security logs
Like any website, Hyndr has to process your IP address while your device communicates with the service. It may also be processed temporarily for security, abuse prevention and rate limiting. It is not displayed publicly and is not used as the identifier for optional Health Check summaries.
Where needed to protect the service, limited request information, which may include your IP address, is recorded in security logs. Security logs are kept separate from Health Check summaries and feedback, access to them is restricted, and they are not used for advertising or profiling.
Optional summary saved when you allow it
If summary storage is enabled and you select Allow, the saved summary contains:
- Speed, latency, jitter and connection-stability measurements.
- Whether the Health Check and each measurement stage completed or failed.
- Timeout or measurement-error categories.
- Approximate ISP and region.
- The selected measurement server.
- General browser and device category.
- Measurement and scoring version numbers.
What is not saved in the optional summary
- Your IP address, name, email address or exact location.
- Your personal files or browsing history.
- The temporary test data transferred while measuring your connection.
- Measurement-session security tokens.
Feedback you choose to send
The feedback form is optional. It collects your rating, any reasons and topic you pick, whether a result was useful, and your message. An email address is collected only if you want a reply and give permission, and it is used only to reply. Feedback is kept separate from Health Check summaries and does not include measurement tokens.
Anonymous daily totals
To keep the Health Check working well, Hyndr counts how many Health Checks start, finish, are cancelled or fail, and how often a server is too busy. Each event only adds 1 to a total for that day, grouped by test stage, measurement server, and a general browser and device type (for example "Chrome" and "Mobile"). These totals are counted for every visitor, whichever privacy choice you make, because they contain no identifier: no IP address, name, session or test ID, token, measurement value, exact time or location, and they cannot be linked back to you or to a single test.
You do not need an account, name or email address to run the Health Check. Hyndr does not use page-level, advertising or behavioural analytics, tracking cookies or a newsletter.
3. Why we use the data
- To perform the Health Check you request and display the result.
- With your consent, to compare saved summaries and improve measurement accuracy, reliability, error detection and scoring.
- To protect the service, investigate failures and prevent misuse.
- Through anonymous daily totals, to see how often Health Checks finish or fail, which browsers and devices have problems, and when servers need more capacity.
- To record and honour your privacy choice for the current browser session.
Hyndr does not sell the optional summary and does not use it for advertising or to build an individual advertising profile.
5. Storage and retention
- Optional Health Check summary: retained for no more than 30 days and then deleted.
- Temporary measurement data: used only while transferring and measuring test traffic; it is not retained as part of the optional summary.
- Feedback and optional reply email: retained for up to 90 days after the feedback has been dealt with, then deleted.
- Security logs: retained for up to 30 days, then deleted, unless a specific entry is needed longer to investigate an active security incident or to meet a legal requirement.
- Anonymous daily totals: kept for 13 months so the same season can be compared year on year, then deleted.
- Privacy choice: saved in your browser's session storage with the policy version and cleared when that browser session ends.
Hyndr does not use a cookie to remember the optional-summary choice.
6. Your summary-storage choices
Before your first Health Check, Hyndr asks you to choose one of two options:
- Allow: a limited summary of each Health Check in this browser session is saved for up to 30 days to improve measurement accuracy and reliability.
- No thanks: no summary is saved. The Health Check and your result work exactly the same.
Hyndr does not save a summary until you choose Allow. Feedback, a reply email and security logs are not part of this choice.
You can change your choice through Privacy Settings. Stopping summary storage prevents new Health Check summaries from being saved during the current browser session. It does not automatically delete summaries saved before you changed the setting; those summaries are deleted within 30 days.
To delete summaries already saved, use Request deletion in Privacy Settings. It permanently deletes every summary saved from the current browser session, using a private identifier your browser keeps until the session ends. Hyndr cannot find summaries saved in another browser or session, or delete a single result on its own. Requesting deletion is separate from stopping future storage.
7. Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable Indian law, you may ask Hyndr to:
- Provide information about personal data processed about you.
- Correct, complete or update that data.
- Erase data that should no longer be processed.
- Address a privacy grievance.
Because Hyndr does not require an account and does not save your IP address in the optional summary, we may need the relevant measurement-session identifier to locate a summary without collecting additional identifying information.
8. Children
Hyndr is a general-audience connection-measurement service and is not directed specifically at children. We do not knowingly use children's data for behavioural monitoring, profiling or targeted advertising.
9. Security and international processing
Hyndr uses reasonable safeguards such as encryption in transit, access controls and data minimisation. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Service providers may process data in India or other locations where they operate. Hyndr will use such processing only as permitted by applicable Indian law and any government transfer restrictions in force.
10. Who we are, contact and policy changes
Hyndr is run by Team Hyndr, an independent two-person team based in India, which decides how and why the data described here is processed. Hyndr is not yet a registered company; this policy will be updated with the legal entity's details once one is formed. Learn more about Hyndr.
For privacy questions, requests to exercise your rights, or a privacy grievance, email admin@hyndr.in. If your request is about a saved summary, include the measurement-session identifier if you have it. You can also use the feedback form; if you want a reply, add your email address there.
We may update this policy as the service or applicable law changes. The updated policy will show a new date. If a material change affects optional summary storage, Hyndr will request a new choice where required.
